After failing to obtain the 9 fragments of The Scientists soul - The Machine, robbed of its own spark of life was thought to have been destroyed. It was left - broken, crushed, and dying. Yet having been spawned from the mind and drive of man, The Machine's will to survive was imperishable. Refusing to give in to the blackness, it called to its spawns for aid. Heeding its call, they came to help, but were instead mercilessly consumed. The Machine began feeding on the shards of itself, dwelling within the thousands of its underlings spread across the land. Yet the more it fed, the more it hungered...
Soon all things, great and small, learned to fear the coming of the black cloud. Even those which had once served its will, now fled from before it - knowing that being caught meant a fate much worse than death...
Born from a thousand tormented minds, fused together by wrath and driven by hunger and rage - Knowing only one purpose: To live...survive...grow. To live that it may find those filthy rags who sought to destroy it. Soon they too will be found - They too will be a part of it - And they too will know the fury of The Hive Mind.

Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
